Abstract

In this article professor García analyzes several theories about
Literature and Truth, and then contrasts them with the views held by F ray
Luis de León, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, Rubén Darío, Octavio Paz a n d
other great writers. He concludes that on the literary field, truth a n d
beauty are one and the same thing, because true literature can not exist
in a text where Truth and Literature cease to be identical, which confirms
what St. Thomas Aquinas saidabout art as "splendor veritatis".
