Point of inspiration: the influence of first music teachers on teacher education

Abstract

This text deals with imitation in the process of teaching and learning music and aims to show the importance of initial teachers in the training of future music teachers. Anchored in theorists who deal with social relations as a reflective practice in music teacher training and with the methodological support of the musicobiography process, the text is based on the analysis of testimonies collected in different contexts of music education, from interviews with two music teachers from higher education, one from basic education and one from special education.
