MODELAMIENTO Y SIMULACION COMPUTACIONAL EN LA ENSEÑANZA Y APRENDIZAJE DE LA FÍSICA

Abstract

This paper describes the applications of Computer software tools done at the Physics Department of Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación. The software used was “Modellus” and also the on-line course “Physics with Computers” , which is available as freeware in Internet, and which is based on a wide range of java-applets simulations embedded in web pages. The paper focuses on the description of these software tools because of the fluent contact between the faculty of the Physics Department and the authors, Dr. Vitor Duarte Teodoro, from Universidad Nueva de Lisboa-Portugal, and Dr. Angel Franco García, from Universidad del País Vasco. In the last couple of years, both specialists have been visiting professors to our university in the context of the project “Improvement of Initial Formation of Teachers”.
