Abstract

The family Oecophoridae in Chile is represented by 40 genera and 76 species described to date. However, its diversity should be larger than that, based on the new species appearing in field collections. The present study used specimens collected in white light traps and ultraviolet light traps located in Pirque (Región Metropolitana de Santiago) and Chimbarongo (Región del Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins) from December 2011 to April 2012. Three new monospecific genera are described. They are Glorita nov. gen., Pirquelia nov. gen. and Yasnita nov. gen. For each of the species are given illustrations of their genital structures and wing venation, photographs of adults, and geographic distribution data.
