The following article addresses the importance of integrating the pedagogy of memory in teacher training. It analyzes the role of collective memory in the educational process by providing for an understanding of pedagogical experiences from our context, thus contributing to the construction of a critical consciousness in future educators. Then, the literacy campaigns in Argentina and Chile during the 1970s are examined as significant examples of popular education, highlighting their importance in the fight against illiteracy and their historical and political relevance. The text concludes with an invitation to reflect on how these past experiences can enrich contemporary educational practices, especially in the context of a pedagogy committed to human rights and social justice.
