Lembrança certa e lembrança quebrada de um velho sobrevivente

Resumo: A narrativa memorialística de um velho educador, sobrevivente da ditadura militar no Brasil, é o eixo condutor da investigação aqui engendrada sobre lembranças certas e lembranças quebradas. Na obra Não falei, de Beatriz Bracher, o velho Gustavo assim nomeia suas recordações, e as apresenta na narrativa - ora via simples relatos, ora via construção de imagens – tal como lhe vão aflorando. Examino essas lembranças à luz da filosofia fenomenológica de Paul Ricoeur, problematizando os conceitos de lembrança pura e lembrança imagem de Henri Bergson, bem como as reflexões confessionais de Santo Agostinho, para compreender do que o narrador se lembra e de que maneira essas lembranças se configuram em sua memória. Por fim, busco estabelecer uma relação entre como se apresentam os fatos recordados por ele ao longo da narrativa com o modo como conduziu sua vida após os eventos decorrentes da ditadura.

Abstract: The memorialistic narrative of an old educator, survivor of the military dictatorship in Brazil, is the main subject of the research here engendered about certain remembering and broken remembering. In the work “Não falei” by Beatriz Bracher, the old Gustavo therefore nominates his recollections and present them in the narrative, sometimes via simple reports, sometimes via the construction of images, just as they come to him. I examine those memories in the light of phenomenological philosophy of Paul Ricoeur, discussing the concepts of pure memory and image memory of Henri Bergson, as well as the confessional reflections of St. Augustine, in order to understand what he remembers and how those memories are shaped in his memory. Finally, I seek to establish a relationship between how the facts recalled by him are presented throughout the narrative and the way he conducted his life after the events stemming from the dictatorship.
