Análisis del Proyecto de Ley sobre las Universidades del Estado en Chile

Abstract

This paper aims to analyse the main elements of the bill on State Universities in Chile, emphasizing the Strength ideas that fortify and support this initiative, such as the improvement of quality, the new systematic vision that the government intends to give to their universities, also Strengthening their pluralism, relevance and effectiveness. On the other hand, a critical view on the PLUE is presented, making a judgment on different aspects that still have to be developed; Among these it is pointed out that there is still a commercial and non-social vision on the subject, besides the autonomy of each state university is constrained by forcing them to generate an even more competitive and individualistic academic environment.
