Abstract
This article portrays a vision about the influence of the comics in these two cities; establishing mechanisms that show the social development between the years 60’s to the XXI century, creating collective identities from the graphic representation of the concrete signs of the city, to the way in which these are embodied into the social phenomena they represent, in other words, the symbolic representations that are established embody an imaginary and social substantial about the city.
The necessary corpus to develop this research is not limited to an esthetic, editorial, thematic or ideological line; in fact, different mechanisms can be displayed regarding humor, science fiction, adventure, among others. Therefore, the objective is to identify and explain the significant tensions that are produced. In order to achieve this objective, several productions from a diversity of authors will be examined, such as Themo Lobos, H.G. Oesterheld, Carlos Trillo, Pepo, Ricardo Barreiro, José Palomo, among others.
