Abstract
El presente trabajo expone aspectos de las ideas de don Andrés Bello sobre la gramática y la ortografía de nuestra lengua. Él es reconocido en el mundo hispánico por su intento de realizar una ortografía mucho más simplificada. Consideraremos conceptos que Bello criticaba desde ese tiempo y que hoy se siguen reiterando en la enseñanza escolar, y que se niegan a desterrarse de las prácticas docentes.
