Abstract
Este trabajo estudia los cuentos y leyendas de la Capital Federal –Brasilia–, a partir de la
divulgación y el rescate de la literatura reciente de la ciudad, que hace poco más de cuarenta años, es sede del gobierno brasileño. Su finalidad es también revelar, por medio de la tradición folclórica, a la luz de referencial teórico específico, las historias de los pioneros que emigraron a la nueva región a fines de la década del 50, con el fin de construir el nuevo Centro Administrativo –los denominados “candangos”. Además, se analizan textos que contribuyen a la ampliación del imaginario cultural brasileño, mientras se exploran temáticas poco divulgadas de la capital y de las ciudades satélites que configuran el Distrito Federal.
