Abstract
Voy a referirme a un escritor estudiado en la
historia literaria brasileña como un autor re-
gionalista: Graciliano Ramos. Su "nouvelle"
Vidas secas es un texto referencial de una
época y de una realidad que continúa, tal vez,
casi igual hasta hoy. Es una fuerte crítica
social al desamparo en que viven miles de
personas a raíz de la inclemencia de la sequía
y la falta de agua; sin embargo, está lejos,
pero muy lejos, de ser un panfleto. El texto
denuncia la miseria del hombre del nordeste
de Brasil.
