Abstract
Si analizamos el concepto de evaluar que nos ofrece el Diccionario de la Academia (Vigesimosegunda Edición), veremos que significa “señalar el valor de algo. 2. Estimar, apreciar, calcular el valor de algo. 3. Estimar los conocimientos, aptitudes y rendimiento de los alumnos”, del francés antiguo evaluer, de e- ‘sacar’ y valué ‘valor’, a su vez del latín valere ‘estar fuerte’ (Gómez de Silva, 1995). En consecuencia, y como bien sabemos, evaluar no sólo implica ‘calificar’, ‘poner notas’, sino que estimar o calcular el valor de algo para saber cuán fuerte es.
