Abstract
ASPECTOS GENERALES
El Fondo Solidario de Crédito Universitario, FSCU, es una de las formas de finan- ciamiento del Sistema Universitario, al menos, por ahora, del subsistema constitutivo del Honorable Consejo de Rectores de universidades tradicionales chilenas. Se trata de un aporte que hace el estado a las universidades a través del financiamiento de la cobertura de aranceles de estudiantes que demuestran que su grupo familiar tiene insuficientes recursos económicos como para solventar sus estudios superiores. El FSCU es, por lo tanto, una forma indirecta de financiamiento de las universidades tradicionales chilenas. Los dineros asignados, de acuerdo a pautas preestablecidas, cancelan las cuentas de los estudiantes e ingresan directamente a las arcas de la universidad.
