Abstract

An ad hoc instrument was applied to a sample of 48 male and female academics from Metropolitan Universily of Educational Sciences (UMCE); to identify their stress levels and support in the following areas: personal, labor-organizational and social-situational. The analysis suggests that harmony belween stress and aids that they receive are not attached to the adscription Faculty and it is with their academic hierarchy, stability of employment, seniority and academic degree and work shift. The results were compared with those obtained for their counterparts from the National Autonomous University of México (UNAM) and the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) and indícate that the personal and working areas have better harmony than those of the UAM, contrary that happens in social aspect, while job and salary satisfaction are cióse to the mean level.
