Abstract
Social inequality does not exist independently of educational policies, which can contribute to it in different
ways, either to its amplification, or on the contrary to its reduction, depending on the periods that are taken
as an object of research. From this observation, it is argued that a historical analysis is particularly appropriate
to address the analysis of the relationship between these two aspects of educational reality that is intended to
clarify in this Seminar. All the more so if one takes into account the fact that own socio-educational inequality,
and the socio-political conflicts that take place around it at certain historical moments, do not fail to influence
sometimes the very definition of educational policies.
