Abstract

The aim of this essay, is to make an approach to paradigms, approaches and philosophies of the Chilean
educational system, in which applies and develops the grant school preferential law - now SEP.
Specifically addressed three key points for a correct understanding of this educational norm. Firstly, will
define the role of the State in the educational system; Secondly, will analyse the philosophies and regional
paradigms that influence in the education system in Chile and thirdly, will analyse the SEP, with the role of
the State and the paradigms, approaches, and philosophies that influence in the national education system.
