Abstract
This article brings together results of surveys on foreign language entry skills. The surveys were applied to students of the first semester of the Pedagogy career in German - 2013 and 2017 cohorts of the Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación and intended to make known the perception that students have developed language skills in foreign language in their home schools, such as listening, reading comprehension, oral expression when talking and discussing a topic and finally, written expression. In addition, this study will give an estimate of the perception that the students have of the processing of different contents for the accomplishment of foreign language skills. Likewise, it will be possible to estimate in which form the acquired in foreign language in the schools facilitates or not the learning of German as a foreign language in the UMCE.
