Abstract
La elaboración participativa del Proyecto Educativo Institucional de cada colegio, el cual es la herramienta de gestión educativa que explícita los fines e identidad de un centro educativo incluyendo los diferentes planes operativos para alcanzar dichas metas es un tema que ha cobrado importancia paulatina dentro de la educación debido a los cambios organizacio- nales que ha traído la Reforma Educacional.
Sin embargo, la elaboración democrática de dicho proyecto se ha visto obstaculizada por diversas variables de las cuales se pretende establecer un panorama amplio en este trabajo descubriendo de este modo, la riqueza en un área de intervención educativa que aún no es lo suficientemente desarrollada.
