Abstract
"El más triste espectáculo de la sociedad moderna es que la inmensa mayoría de los hombres no saben qué son, para qué son y cuál es su destino". Estas líneas escritas hace 34 años no han perdido actualidad pero han ganado dramaticidad.
Si se desea fundamentar "las Humanidades en el ámbito de la Educación chilena actual", como postula la convocatoria al Congreso, deberemos aclarar el concepto de "hombre", tan manido desde siempre, con el resultado de que "concepciones de hombre" hay decenas, enfocadas desde perspectivas diferentes con afirmaciones plausibles o no.
