Abstract

Greek tragedy, or more properly Athenian tragedy, is imposed as a laboratory
where the greatest problems of the p o lis are exhibited. At the same time it denounces
the odious nature of violence and, sometimes, the way to avoid it. This poetic genre
explores, challenges and finally questions key aspects of reality.
