Abstract
Utilizando una relación entre la metodología estructural de Claude Levi Strauss y la hermenéutica psicoanalítica de Paul Ricoeur, se construyen los arquetipos atacameños por la narración de sus cuentos. El zorro, figura principal en los cuentos orales de esta cultura y que simboliza el mal y el bien, se refleja en los otros animales que enfrentan las ofertas y desafíos del zorro. Un elemento del bien, poco representado en los cuentos, es el agua. La sabiduría se encuentra representada en los relatos sobre el rey inca, a través del imaginario de incas y españoles.
