Abstract
Durante los últimos treinta años, las relaciones entre la cultura y la sociedad han sufrido modificaciones sustanciales. Uno de estos cambios se origina en el hecho de que la cultura adquiere dimensiones económicas. Francia, a partir de 1958, asume el desafío de incorporar las implicancias económicas de la cultura en el diseño de su proyecto cultural como país. Esta ponencia reseña la trayectoria de este proceso a partir de los actores principales representados por el Estado, que conserva su liderazgo a pesar de su inversión mínima, por las colectividades locales, que descentralizan y dinamizan los fondos y por las empresas comprometidas con un mecenazgo redefinido.
