Abstract

The metaphor is not only a tool of literature to beautify language but also determines, in one way or another, how we express and behave ourselves. In this sense, the metaphor acquires other connotations. In the classroom of English as a foreign language -EFL-, this is represented in the way of acting and expressing of the English teachers with the students. This leads to questioning if the conceptual metaphor defines the teaching process-learning as a conceptual system. To tackle the question, a fieldwork was carried out on the most frequently used linguistic expressions, which are presented in this article, as well as the results obtained using different instruments.
