Abstract
In this study, we present an analysis about the presence of disaster in the dramaturgy on Valparaíso written in the post-dictatorship, concentrating on the study of the following works: Valparaíso no existe (1999), I love Valpo (2010), Tsunami... gran ola en el puerto (2010), La rebelión de nadie. El solo de un chinchinero (2011), Dubois santo/ asesino (2011), Memorias del viento (XX) and Mediagua (2013). The text uses theoretical resources from literary theory, anthropology, sociology and history to propose that the continuum of disasters that the city suffers responds to the abandonment that the city-port experiences in political, social and economic terms in recent decades.
