Abstract

This article seeks to clarify the concept of social justice, in order to help take a position on the need for education for social justice. Social Justice is a complex concept, which requires the review of various analyses: first, the elements provided by the bibliography to capture the concept of Justice and Social Justice; then, the historical change of political philosophy from the seventeenth century to understand when and how the idea of Social Justice arises and changes from different political approaches; and, finally, different approaches from which Social Justice is currently approached: distributive, political theories of recognition, human well-being approaches and critical approach.
