Abstract
La Facultad de Historia,Geografía y Letras de la Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación asume el desafío de un Congreso de Humanidades y lo da a conocer a través de la Revista de la Facultad.
Humanismo implica formación del hombre por el hombre. Frente a los cambios de nuestro sistema educacional, es importante detenerse un momento a considerar lo que son las humanidades y el rol que le corresponde al humanista. Y nada parece más oportuno que recordar a los auténticos humanistas que fueron los formadores de profesores en el antiguo Instituto Pedagógico de la Universidad de Chile, hoy Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación. Entre ellos deseo destacar a ese verdadero modelo de humanista que fuera Rodolfo Oroz Scheibe.
