Abstract

This article is a review of research using electroencephalography to study the effect of physical exercise on various executive functions. The search yielded 18 articles between 2019 and 2024. The interventions included walking, walking, tai-chi, cycling, table tennis, HIIT, etc., in different age groups ranging from 16 years to older adults, Evidence that cognitive improvements produced by physical exercise occur throughout life. The interventions produced variations in event-related potentials or brain waves, so that it is possible to attribute improvements in executive functions to neuroelectric changes caused by physical exercise.
