Abstract
This article examines the social impact of Marco Magoa’s theater on the development of social awareness of a group of American college students in relation to the current situation of Syrian refugees in Europe. It also analyzes the linguistic and cultural impact on L2 students, which can be observed in the loss of anxiety associated to the oral production in a L2 and the acquisition of intercultural skills. The essay explains the methodology used in this social and pedagogical experience as well as the evaluation implemented to assess the social impact on the students that participated in this project.
