Abstract
Helio Gallardo (1943), profesor de Filosofía, titulado en el Instituto Pedagógico de la
Universidad de Chile y avecindado desde 1973 en San José (Costa Rica), ha ejercido en la
Universidad del citado lugar (UCR) y en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Costa Rica
UNA) una brillante actividad académica, reconocida por sus investigaciones sobre la realidad
social y política popular en Latinoamérica. Destaca entre sus textos la publicación 500 años:
Fenomenología del mestizo. Violencia y resistencia (1993) y numerosos artículos editados
en la página electrónica Pensar América latina. Su producción poética no ha sido menor:
Adquisición de un automóvil (2001), Para subir al Jomalú (2002), All ¿Together? Now (2007).
