Abstract
Nuestra lectura intenta establecer una relación entre los procesos institucionales que configuran la red ideológica subyacente en un documento publicado en 1871, “El manual del hacendado chileno” y los espacios simbólicos legitimadores representados en un cuento de Óscar Castro “El último disparo del Negro Chaves”. Pensamos que la literatura, considerada en su experiencia social e histórica, traspasa los límites temporales y se convierte en una nueva visión del pensamiento y cultura que crearía efectos de una verdad posible de ser rastreada en el mundo histórico.
