Abstract
Dentro del marco de la literatura comparada,
de la relación historia-literatura y de la
visión de mundo y concepción literaria que
posee cada autor, se intentará determinar y
comparar el foco o punto de vista desde el que
se construyen dos novelas latinoamericanas
que tienen un protagonista común. Estas son
la novela histórica Se llamaba Bolívar, del
escritor chileno Enrique Campos Menéndez,
que asume una actitud cordial frente a la
historia del héroe y enfoca su vida sobre la
base de tres figuras femeninas que marcan
tres etapas de su proceso de desarrollo, y la
novela El General en su laberinto, de Gabriel
García Márquez, que rompe tanto con el vín
culo histórico, como con la noción primigenia
y positiva del concepto de héroe, para mostrar
al hombre en la experiencia extrema de su de
gradación
