Abstract

New technologies offer a very large set of possibilities for use in Science demostrations and laboratory work. This paper shows the clear advantages of these new technologies over the traditional ones, by means of the following example. When measuring the acceleration valué for a Steel ball, in free fall from different altitudes, the elapsed time was measured simultaneously, both by means of a chronometer and with an special electronic sensor free fall adapter, the latter, branched to an interface allows us to analize recorded data with a special software, named Data Studio. Both obtained sets of  experimental data were used to fit with those expected from theory. A comparison between the obtained g valúes, shows the best results for the electronic system, with small errors placed between 0 and 0.4%. The traditional method shows errors in the range between 5-56%.
