Abstract

Two new Oecophoridae species from central Chile are described. Based on the external characters
and genitalia, both species are placed in the genus Retha Clarke, 1978. Diagnostic characters of both
species are recognized. Figures of adult, genitalia and a key for Retha species are provided. The larvae
of this insects feeds on remainder dry flowers and seeds of Puya (Bromeliaceae) seed heads.
