Abstract
Society has been impacted at various times in its history: with the invention of writing, printing and, above all, digital technologies. From this perspective, some characteristics of the 21st century are presented, taking into account diverse sociocultural reflections of Chile, from the international prism of globalization, which, in turn, impacts on the educational process that requires the integration of information technologies and communication. ICT in the training of education professionals so that, in turn, they can incorporate innovative strategies in ICT for development from basic skills to higher order skills.
