Abstract
T h e author narrates the génesis o f
Italian poet Giovanni Pascoli fs presence, particularly from his Latín
production, in Chilean academic environment. As from 1980, Pascoli’s
Latín poems have delighted Chilean students and professors alike,
arousing interest and admiration in congresses, celebrations, seminars,
and publications. Their translation into Spanish have also made them
more accessible to those who are not acquainted with the original
language. The text and translation of the poems Laureolus, Pallas and
Apollo’s Temple have been included here.
