La dinámica platónica de la percepción en República

Abstract

The paper analyzes, first, the polysemy of the ordinary use of the verb αἰσθάνεσθαι in Thucydides, the Hippocratic Corpus and Plato’s Republic, and the morphology and history of this verb. Secondly, it studies how Plato attempts in Republic the delimitation of its meaning through the concept of dynamis of the senses. Finally, it shows how this attempt does not entail a clear distinction between αἰσθάνεσθαι y δοξάζειν and is accompanied by a generous recognition of the dynamism of perception for knowledge.
