Abstract
El poeta chileno Juan Guzmán Cruchaga se dio a conocer con su poema de juventud "Canción ”, en el que aparecen ya delineados los elementos principales de su estilo: versos menores, tono sereno, vocabulario simple, poesía de rasgos impresionistas.
Su último libro, “Sed”, publicado pocos meses antes de su muerte, contiene poemas de profundo significado que revelan una suerte de intuición del poeta de que la vida ya se acaba. Esto lo hace reflexionar especialmente sobre el desprendimiento. Pero en ellos se revela también su sed de vida, de más vida, de vida en el más allá; sed que sabe expresar desde su perpectiva de hombre de fe.
