Abstract

A critical reading of Gracia Morales’s play, NN12 (2010), which explores two of its central topics: the drama of the disappeared and historical memory. The universality of this drama is enhanced by the indetermination of place and time. The play provides an exemplary universal document that makes possible the understanding and evaluation of state terrorism in different countries and eras, forcing the reader-spectator-student to become an ethical witness. The article includes a teaching proposal for the study and analysis of the play in the classroom.
