Abstract
Se revisa la situación en la que se encontraba la poesía chilena en el siglo XIX, para luego dar cuenta sumaria del proceso que, a partir de dicha realidad, se desencadena al interior de nuestras fronteras culturales. En la parte
final de este trabajo se examina la poesía femenina del periodo, para concluir con una visión de conjunto del fenómeno poético chileno del siglo XX.
