Abstract

The objective of this research is to design and validate an instrument that allows to know the vision about Nature of Sciences (NoS) that high school students immersed in the Chilean educational system have. The development of the instrument "¿Cómo vemos la ciencia?" contemplated a bibliographic review, a structure on a five-level Likert scale that contained 42 items distributed equitably in the following six dimensions: economic, utilitarian, democratic, cultural, moral and science learning, it is validated twice by five expert judges specialized in the area of science education reaching a construct validity that exceeds 90% agreement between expert judges and a kappa index close to 0.7. Then, a sample (N = 229) of data has been collected from the target population, obtaining correct reliability and validity.
