Abstract
The article examines the need for a more holistic and updated understanding of the biological dimension of sexuality in sexual and biological education. Through a systematic literature review using the PRISMA methodology, 17 recent articles were analyzed with the assistance of two Artificial Intelligence models. The results highlight the importance of integrating inclusive and critical perspectives into teaching. The studies criticize traditional sexual education for its limited focus and advocate for the inclusion of diverse topics and the need for well-trained professionals. The necessity of challenging gender stereotypes in biological education is emphasized, promoting an inclusive pedagogy that better prepares future scientists for a diverse work environment. Articles on queer biology propose innovative approaches to address sexual and gender diversity in sexual education. Research on the LGBTIAQ+ community underscores the need for more inclusive and affirmative sexual education. The studies also emphasize the integration of intercultural and sustainability perspectives into sexual education. Collectively, these findings underline the need to reform current educational practices to include more diverse and representative perspectives, benefiting all students and fostering a broader and more equitable understanding of human sexuality in society.
