Abstract

In this article we describe the process to build and validate a test that evaluates some scientific and mathematical competences in students who enter careers in Pedagogy in Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Pedagogy in Mathematics for secondary education. The criteria used to establish the psychometric suitability of the Ítems were based on the classical theory of the
tests. In general, the test shows a médium difficulty (p = 54%). The discrimination Índex, estimated from a biserial correlation, indicates that the test discriminates well the evaluated trait (rb> 3.5). A reliability analysis was also carried out using the Cronbach alpha statistic (a> 0.9), which indicates high reliability of the final test composed of the Ítems that exceeded piloting.
